Within the framework of Med4EBM Project, TCNR conducted on 11th of August, System Cause-Effect Analysis online workshop to asses the ecological risks and socio-economic stresses and first identification of management interventions for the Implementation of an Ecosystem-Based Integrated Coastal Zone Management.
The System Cause-Effect Analysis Workshop focuses on defining a coherent and integrated set of
management measures, in the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (Lebanon). The process will be led and helped by
using the ISP software, the system-diagram and the indicators resulting from the Ecosystem Context
Analysis.
The Med4EBM partners and/or relevant stakeholders jointly carry out an analysis called “cause-effect”, in
order to explicit and to explain the relations between the components and to evaluate the nature of them.
Moreover, the stakeholders review the status of the knowledge of each component, writing the data
available and lack of information. The final step, better developed in the next phase (Developing EB-ICZM
Governance Protocols workshops) will be the suggestion of governance protocols and management
initiatives, that included both practical actions and monitoring or/and new collection campaigns of data.
